About the Event
Gold and silver leaf applications are used as a background in many Japanese traditional paintings. However, Japanese modern and contemporary artists have been using gold and silver leaves as the main materials for their abstract paintings. Mami Takahashi will show how to apply a flat leaf onto a paper surface, as well as how to sprinkle gold leaf. Takahashi will also show the magic of silver leaf by the process of oxidation.
