About the Event

We will talk about how sake evolved in Japan over the centuries, touching on its uses, applications, and types of sake at the time. We will then look at the state of the sake industry today: where is sake being made, exported, and consumed? Who is making it and consuming it? Finally we will ponder the future of sake and what may lie ahead for the industry. We will also taste sake together, and discuss how they represent the Past, the Present, and the potential Future of sake.
Come sip along with Mark in this casual session to deepen your appreciation of sake. Recommended sake includes:

Past: Gekkeikan Nigori Sake 720ml (Gekkeikan, Japan) (Subject to change)
Present: Haiku 750ml (Gekkeikan USA, USA)
Future: Yomi The Afterlife Junmai Ginjo 250ml (Sake One, USA) (Subject to change)
