Japanese Classes FAQ

 Frequently Asked Questions:

  1. What platform is used for classes?

All classes will be held via ZOOM. We know that internet glitches can happen – if there is a problem on our instructors end, additional class time will held to make-up for time missed.

  1. How long are classes?

All level classes will be held for 2 hours for a total of 6 weeks. There will be a one week break in between all sessions. Schedule during the holidays may vary in length.

  1. What should I prepare for the first class?

Please have your text book, workbook and materials sent prior to the first class with you at all classes. A pad of paper and pen are also recommended.

Please ensure that you are in a quiet space, as students may be called on to respond to a question or a series of role play drills.

  1. Do you provide a test to see which level I should attend?

NO – unfortunately we are not able to provide testing. We recommend that you register for the level that you think is a good fit. Students can always move levels the following week of class.

  1. Will I receive a class syllabus?

YES – Students will receive a weekly class syllabus prior to the first class.

  1. Will I receive additional materials for class?

YES – Students will receive all additional materials prior to the first class. All students will also receive a copy of the lesson that will be covered in the first class and a copy of materials prior to the first day of class. Text books will be sent 24 hours after first class.

  1. What is your cancellation policy?

Students have 24 hours to drop your class and/or move levels. Students who terminate registration within 24 hours will receive a full refund. Refunds will not be processed after 24 hours.

  1. What if I miss a class?

Unfortunately at this time we don’t have make-up classes. If you miss a class, we recommend that you check your syllabus and review lesson covered.

  1. If I am going to be late to class can I still attend?

YES – We ask that you please try to attend class on time, however if you are running late you can still attend class. All students can join classes at any time.

  1. Can kids attend class?

YES – Although there is no age minimum, our classes are geared toward adults.  We recommend classes for 12+.

  1. Can I returns books?

No – Unfortunately at this time books are nonrefundable.

  1. Can I receive credit for classes?

No – Although the Society can’t give credit for classes, we can provide you with a certificate of class completion upon request.
