DESCRIPTION:About the Event\nSociety 5.0 which was initiated in Japan through cooperation between industry and government seeks to leverage industrial technology (ie: Industry 4.0) to achieve the 17 sustainability goals set out by the United Nations. The use of digital technology is key to achieving Society 5.0 and each country or region of the world is pursuing this in different ways. Uemura-san will introduce Society 5.0 and highlight Mitsubishi Electric’s approach along with that of its strategic partners\, focusing on Mobility\, Industry\, Life\, and Infrastructure. \nAbout the Speaker\n \nMr. Noristugu Uemura has served as Senior Executive Advisor at Agekke Corporation since May of 2022. After graduating from Florida State University with a major in Japanese\, she lived in Kumamoto and Aichi prefectures before moving to Niigata City in September 2021. DESCRIPTION:About the Event\nEhime Prefecture is located in the northwest region of Shikoku\, the smallest of Japan’s four main islands. It is full of beautiful nature\, nestled between two seas—the Seto Island Sea and Uwa Sea—and the Shikoku Mountains. Known for its deep roots in traditional Japanese culture\, Ehime also has some remarkably modern features interwoven with its historical ties. Only there will you be able to visit one of Japan’s oldest hot springs\, Dogo Onsen\, and bike on a world-class cycling route\, the Shimanami Kaido. Join us to learn about this unique region of Japan! \nAbout the Speaker\n\nMiya Jia is a Coordinator for International Relations (CIR) at the Ehime Prefecture Tourism and International Affairs Division. Born in Shanghai and raised in Chicago\, she has had an interest in international exchange since she was young. In 2020\, she graduated from Northwestern University with a double major in Asian Languages & Cultures and International Studies.
