About the event:
Join the Young Professionals Committee at the Politan Row Chicago food hall to check out Mom’s, a vendor offering Japanese comfort food with a Hawaiian twist. We will try their delicious katsu sando and fried curry bun, along with sides of happi potatoes and gomae veggies. For vegetarians, Mom’s silken tofu salad will be substituted for the katsu sando. Chef power duo Randi Howry and Kelly Ijichi will also speak to our group about how Mom’s got started as well as the inspiration behind their food. Beverages are not included and can be paid for separately on the evening of the event.
About the speakers:
After working side-by-side at mfk, chefs Randi Howry and Kelly Ijichi formed an inseparable bond, and combined, the two have cut their teeth in countless aspects of the food and beverage industry: curating talent at Chicago Gourmet, leading as Sous Chef at Parachute, overseeing purchasing at The Paramount Group, opening Yugen in the West Loop, and more. Together, they have collaborated on pop-up events across the city since 2016, and now, they bring their expertise and energy to Politan Row Chicago with Mom’s.
