Special presentation “U.S.- Japan Relations: Looking Back and Ahead” by Joel Ehrendreich, Director, Office of Japanese Affairs, Bureau of East Asian and Pacific Affairs, U.S.-Department of State.
To celebrate 92 years of U.S.-Japan friendship in true holiday spirit, the Society will host a 36th Annual Holiday Fundraiser and Bonenkai on December 7, 2022 at the Union League Club of Chicago. We are excited to be able to host our first in-person event since the pandemic! In addition, the Society will host a silent auction, including an array of certificates and items available for bidding. The proceeds from this event will benefit programming and educational endeavors.

3. Make a cash donation. Cash donors will be listed in a program book to be disseminated to 200+ Japanese and American executives and their guests. All cash donors will be listed in the Society’s annual report and email update. For every $500 donation received, donor will receive 1 complimentary dinner reservation.

4. Volunteer. The Society seeks volunteers to assist with everything from auction set-up to registration and final auction coordination.
Volunteer shift times include:
7:15-9:30 pm – Shift 2
Please email Erika Kono at with your name and desired shift. A light dinner will be provided for shift 1 & shift 2 volunteers. All volunteers will also receive a $100 travel stipend to and from the Union League Club of Chicago.
